Firehouse Subs, the sandwich chain founded by former firefighters has launched a limited-edition “Gravy Extinguisher” just in time for Thanksgiving. The device, which resembles a classic fire extinguisher, can hold up to two liters of hot gravy and allows users to pump it directly over their turkey.
On sale now at $20 and sold exclusively online while supplies last, the extinguisher does not come with gravy itself. Despite its playful design, the promotion has a serious mission with 100% of the proceeds going towards the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.
According to Mike Vizza, Firehouse Subs’ Director of Communications, the “rescue” angle isn’t just comedic but also symbolic. The foundation uses the funds to support first responders by helping equip fire departments and EMS teams with lifesaving tools like radios and defibrillators.
