SSOTD: U.S. Postal Service brings back 'Operation Santa' for holiday season

This week, the U.S. Postal Service kicked off their 'Operation Santa' campaign for the 2025 holiday season.

Operation Santa invites children and families across the country to write and send letters to Santa Claus. The program connects those writers with generous individuals and organizations willing to fulfill their wishes.

Letters can be submitted now at USPSOperationSanta.com. They must be postmarked by December 6 to be eligible for adoption and fulfillment.

"For more than a century, USPS Operation Santa has brought communities together to make the holidays brighter," said Sheila Holman, VP of Marketing at USPS. "Each year, we receive far more letters than we have adopters and this year we want to change that, especially by encouraging participants to adopt family letters, which make it possible to fulfill the wishes of an entire household at once."

Letter adoptions will open on November 17, allowing adopters to shop and ship directly from the online catalog.
