As the government shutdown continues, the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) is supporting transit riders by donating over 10,000 free transit passes.
Nonprofit and government agencies that have received donated passes include Three Square food bank, Nevada HAND, Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority and the Transportation Security Administration.
RTC says they will continue to provide bus passes to organizations that help people who need rides to get food and essential services.
They've also helped create the Southern Nevada Healthy Food Access Map, allowing users to customize their search for meal sites and food pantries near public transit systems.
