Clark County is recruiting new firefighters now through October 14, 2025, via the website JoinCCFD.org. Applicants will be considered for entry into the next Fire Academy, which begins in January 2026, with Chief Billy Samuels emphasizing that they seek diversity, strong motivation, and a dedication to serving both residents and visitors.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old, hold a high school diploma or GED, and have a Class C driverās license. The selection process includes multiple steps: a written exam, oral interview (conducted with Public Safety Answers), followed by drug testing, criminal background check, medical screening, and a physical abilities test.
The Clark County Fire Department covers much of Southern Nevada ā including the Las Vegas Strip, rural areas (such as Laughlin and Primm), and operates 33 fullātime fire stations plus 10 volunteerāstaffed stations. It also maintains one of the nationās 28 urban search and rescue teams, and provides fire/rescue services at Harry Reid International Airport.
