A new affordable housing complex broke ground in North Las Vegas.
The Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority is building nearly 200 apartment units for seniors 55 and older.
Their mission is to make affordable housing available for households that are 60% or below the area's median income.
The apartment complex will be named after Nevada's first African American Senator, Joseph M. Neal Jr.
The organization estimates the project to be complete in about 18 months or sooner.
