SSOTD: Ronald McDonald House Charities host inaugural Round Up for RMHC Day

Today, Southern Nevadans can make a big difference with just a little change!

When ordering at any local McDonald's, customers can round up their order to the nearest dollar in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Las Vegas.

This is part of the organization's inaugural Round Up for RMHC Day.

Your spare change will help provide essential resources and services to families with children receiving critical hospital care.

"We are a temporary home away from home for families who need to travel to Las Vegas because they don't have the life saving specialty medical treatment that they need to pretty much save their children's lives," shares Alyson McCarthy, CEO of RMHC. "We provide supportive housing, homecooked meals, transportation to and from the hospital so that those families can fully focus on the recovery of their child."

The average round up donation is only 40 cents, and goes to families right here in the valley.

"There's this misconception that McDonald's corporate actually funds us, and that's not the case. We work directly with our amazing, franchise owner operators and what we do is we work on the round up program," said Brian Maxey, Community Engagement Manager of RMHC. "So when you go to McDonald's and they ask if you'd like to round up, that change stays in Las Vegas."

So today, if you're going to get a coffee or you're in the mood for some fast food, consider going to McDonald's and round up!
