Clark County has announced a microchipping service for $5 with the goal of keeping animals out of shelters. According to county officials they have allocated $150,000 to reuniting pets with their owners.
The program has acquired 10,000 microchips and partnered with local organizations including Heart Alive Village, Heaven Can Wait Animal Society, and Nevada SPCA to offer installation services for these chips.
This will greatly decrease the amount of lost pets and will aid in returning them to their owners versus sending these animals to shelters.
