Make-A-Wish Nevada and Forte Home Maintenance, a division of Forte Specialty Contractors, have collaborated together to alter the life of Kion Santos, a 6-year-old boy battling severe respiratory disorder and brain damage!
The collaboration will result in a bathroom makeover that includes an accessible shower and a wider door, making daily activities more manageable for Santos and his family.
Kion Santos has experienced life-threatening illnesses since birth, as he gets older, everyday activities get more challenging as he gets older. His heartfelt wish included an accessible bathroom which was fulfilled during a Make-a-Wish celebration at his home.
The new bathroom features a large, accessible shower and a wide entrance that accommodates a wheelchair.
Scott Bullock, CFO of Forte Specialty Contractors explains, "Las Vegas isn't just where we work, it's our home... Supporting Kion and his family through this project was a meaningful way for Forte to give back to the community that has given so much to us."
Diagnosed in utero with a respiratory disorder and brain damage, Santos is a non-verbal child who requires extensive medical care, including oxygen tanks, a suctioning machine, a ventilator, and a nebulizer.
Despite Kion's medical challenges, he is a joyful kid who loves Disney, especially Puppy Dog Pals, and greets each day with laughter.
