Recently, the Inspirada Community in Henderson and Liberty High School partnered up for the 11th annual Munchies 4 The Military donation drive.
Organized by the Douglas J. Green Memorial Foundation (DJGMF), Munchies 4 The Military aims to send care packages to servicemen and women deployed overseas.
Items include protein bars, dried fruit, beef jerky, nuts, chips, cookies, and personal hygiene products.
During the drive, volunteers from the community and students from Liberty High School boxed up the donated items, assembling care packages that the DJGMF will send to military personnel and their families.
The DJGMF was founded by Suni Chabrow, in memory of her son SPC Douglas J. Green, who was killed in the line of duty in Afghanistan in 2011.
This year, the organization's goal is to assemble 500 care packages. Learn more about the DJGMF here.
