In a new initiative, the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation, as well as many other organizations across the valley are supporting ImpactNV's sustainability efforts by planting trees to expand our green space across Nevada!

More than 70 trees are being planted at Prentiss Walker Memorial Park in an effort to reach ImpactNV's goal of planting 100,000 trees state-wide over the next 10 years!

The Vegas Golden Knights, Henderson Silver Knights Foundation, The Venetian Resort Las Vegas, and sustainability company ReRoute Americans donated the trees after the Go Green Knights games where the Golden Knights introduced their 'The Knight Shield Project' that focuses on sustainability efforts led by Foley Entertainment Group.

Pamela Goynes-Brown, the North Las Vegas Mayor explains, "It's a sort of tree desert, and so bringing more trees here will help provide much-needed shade and beautify this area and it's right around the corner from Earth Day." She further explains that initiatives like planting trees enable a new space of greenery that will provide shade to a space that lacks it. Staff and volunteers from the Foley Entertainment Group gathered together and helped plant trees alongside community leaders and members. Eric Tosi, chief marketing officer for The Vegas Golden Knights explains, "To serve and give back and make our city better... and that's what we've really been intentional about."

As The Vegas Golden Knights plan to go green on and off the ice, their city-wide sustainability efforts through their new campaign 'The Knight SHIELD Project' all align with their core values as an organization for a greater positive impact to our community. Eric Tosi further explains how, "The Knights SHIELD Project aligns with our core ethos of protecting and defending our realm. The infrastructure and processes we have established will allow us to continually introduce new elements and initiatives to the program as we advance on our journey. This will position us to make an even greater positive impact."

The Knight SHIELD Project stands for:

Sustainability

Healthy Air Quality

Improve & Inspire

Energy & Water Efficiency

Landscape Protection

Decrease Waste Generation

The Vegas Golden Knights will announce additional programs and initiatives in upcoming months in support of The Knight SHIELD Project campaign. This new project comes ahead of Earth Day on April 22nd, as well as the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs!
