Aid for AIDS of Nevada, also known as AFAN, is hosting a "Blue Christmas" Celebration at the House of Blues inside Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino on Sunday, December 8th at 1pm.
The event aligns with World AIDS Day on December 1st and aims to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS and to foster a stigma-free community.
Guests can enjoy performances from American Idol finalist, David Hernandez, as well as performances from local talent Brett Pruneau, Cierra Bliss, and Estevan Velasco. Blue Christmas will also include holiday carols and cuisine. All proceeds for the event will support AFAN's services for individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS in Southern Nevada.
The event is in collaboration with Clark County's Love! Live! U=U campaign. U=U stands for "undetectable equals untransmittable," meaning that people living with HIV who maintain a undetectable viral load cannot transmit the virus.
Executive Director of AFAN, Antioco Carrillo said, "Blue Christmas is a celebration of the holiday spirit and of our community. This event reflects the unity and resilience of those affected by HIV/AIDS as we work to ensure that everyone receives the support and care they need.
