A local kindergarten through 8th grade Missouri elementary school decided to surprise their custodian with a building named after her! Claudene Wilson retired after 40 years of dedicated work this July, but left the school feeling more than appreciated by the students and faculty. Claudene started at the school in 1994 and had a positive attitude her entire time there. In the mornings, Claudene would always greet each student walking from the bus with a smile. The school says she has taken on many different roles to help over the years, but she says that supporting the students has become the best and most important part of the job. The board officially renamed the building in August of this year and Claudene was shocked to see the building suddenly read her own name! The school board unanimously chose to name the building after her to ensure her legacy and impact would live on for multiple generations. The “Claudene Wilson Learning Center” will continue to honor her, and her kindness, throughout the years!
