Intermountain Health just announced their plans to build Nevada's FIRST freestanding children's hospital here in Las Vegas!
The hospital plans to be built in UNLV's Harry Reid Research and Technology Park in the Southwest area of Las Vegas.
Mitch Cloward, President of Intermountain Health's Desert Region explains, "Intermountain Health recognizes comprehensive, subspecialty care for children close to home helps greatly reduce strain on families burdened by emotionally and physically challenging health conditions." He explains that they are grateful for all healthcare workers and facilities who have dedicated themselves to caring for children and feel privileged to join them in advancing the healthcare for children!
The hospital plans to contain 150 beds and create nearly 12,000 jobs for healthcare workers in Nevada!
According to Fox 5 News, Nevada has 271 pediatricians for the 640,000 children in the state. This new children's hospital would help this extreme gap in filling necessary pediatric healthcare providers.
The facility is planned to be completed by 2030.
