Opportunity Village, which is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping those with disabilities, is breaking ground on a new Northwest campus along with Betty’s Village North Project. This is a $59 million dollar project with a location that spreads across 17.6 acres. It is located at the intersection of North Thom and Rome Boulevard, which is just off North Decatur Boulevard and the 215. The Northwest campus will provide on-site workforce training, day habilitation program spaces, a coffee shop, and a retail store. Betty’s Village North project will feature around 90 residencies, which will consist of one- and two-bedroom apartments along with four-bedroom homes as well. Construction for Phase I, which is Betty’s Village North project, will begin in October. The construction is estimated to take around 18 to 24 months. Then this will lead into Phase II, which includes the construction of the Opportunity Village Northwest campus. This expansion and addition will provide resources for its residents, affordable housing, and a community park.
