It's the first week of school for students in Las Vegas! That means new backpacks, clothes, and school supplies.
Luckily for parents, the Faith Lutheran thrift store has all of your back-to-school needs.
The Faith Lutheran thrift store is run by local moms, and is owned by Faith Lutheran Middle School and High School.
Kim Goldberg is the parent of a Faith Lutheran student, and she also works at the thrift store. "When my daughter started at Faith, and I found out that there was a thrift store, I had to be part of it," she said.
"My love of re-merchandizing and creating these little boutique environments that changes out every two weeks based on the product, we have in store and what we want to feature," Kim added. "Right now, we're doing this back to school boutique."
The thrift store has everything from books and office supplies to school uniforms and shoes.
Assistant manager Julie Pijnappels has two kids who graduated from Faith Lutheran High School.
She says even though the Faith Lutheran thrift store has been in Las Vegas for decades, their newest location on Rainbow Blvd. is busier than ever.
"We have people that have shopped with us for 30 years," Julie said. "This is Faith Lutheran's first charity organization that we started here, and all the money that we make here goes to the school and different programs out there."
Julie emphasizes that not everything in their store is used. "We are amazed at the items that we get new with tag in bags. I mean, the brands we get, the items we get everyday, we're like, I can't believe this got donated, but we can offer it to the public at an amazing discounted price," she said.
The Faith Lutheran thrift store is located at 2211 South Rainbow Boulevard.
