Dorothy Tillman, at the age of just 18, earned her doctorate degree in behavioral health from Arizona State University. Tillman was homeschooled by her mom back in Chicago. She was able to study at her own pace, which was a lot faster than normal. Therefore, at the age of 10, she decided to enroll in college, and then at the age of 11, she received her associate. From there, she received her bachelor’s at 13 and her master’s at age 15. Tillman emphasized that as she got into higher education, she would continuously ask herself, “What’s next?" For her dissertation, the research focused specifically on school-based mental health programs. Interesting enough, she shares the same name as her grandmother, Dorothy Tillman, who was a trailblazer in politics and the civil rights movement in Chicago. Tillman is truly one of a kind and sets exceptionally high standards, receiving her doctorate at the age of 18.
