42 Police Officers Joined the LVMPD this Week!

On Wednesday, May 24, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department welcomed 42 new officers, which included 37 men and 5 women. Along with this, 5 of the new officers were born out of the country, in places including, China, Philippines, Mexico, and Taiwan. To honor and recognize the new officers, they held a graduation ceremony for them at the Orleans Hotel & Casino.

One of the graduates, Jalil Briley, a Las Vegas Native & UNLV football alum, said, "Being a kid from the West side of Las Vegas and who my mother is, Miss Katherine Duncan, she always really upheld the community and I always want to try to make anywhere I go a better place."

These new graduates are ready to take on all the struggles that flood our city. They are committed to take care of the city and make Las Vegas a better and safer place for all who live here.
