Ed Sheeran previously released a new single "Eyes Closed" ahead of his next album. And now he’s followed it up with an acoustic version of the song! Sheeran released a video that features a string ensemble as well as his producer Aaron Dessner on piano.
In the video, Sheeran is seen singing backed by other musicians. The song is about losing someone and feeling their absence everywhere. "Eyes Closed" is part of his upcoming album, “Subtract”, which is due for release next month.
Sheeran said that he rewrote the song to address his own trauma. He shared the song was inspired by the death of his close friend, Jamal Edwards. Check it out on the right.
