An award winning float, called "Lift Each Other Up," the float won the Sweepstakes award given to the most beautiful float in the Annual Rose Parade in Pasadena, paying tribute to many people who have helped others through organ donation.
The Chinese street dragon symbolizes great power, luck, and strength in Chinese culture, celebrating the power of donating tissue, eye, and organ donation.
The float honors those who have donated to help others in the form of Floragraphs, or photos of people depicted in flowers. Among the ones honored are Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Micah May and Las Vegas local Johnathan “Johnny” Douglas Mondt, both of which donated organ, tissue, and cornea after their death.
"Lift Each Other Up" is a beautiful display to those who have lost loved ones and to those helping others.
