Nevada SPCA Will Hold Inaugural Neon Dog Walk at Sunset Park on October 9

Grab your pup and your glow-in-the-dark clothes because the Nevada SPCA inaugural Neon Dog Walk is here! This family-friendly event will be held at Sunset Park from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021. Participants will have a fun time walking their fur babies around the 1.7-mile Dunes Trail. Neon and glow-in-the-dark clothing and accessories are highly encouraged for dogs and humans.

The Nevada SPCA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit shelter that relies entirely on the support of individuals and local businesses. This fundraising event will benefit the homeless pets at their new facility at 5375 Procyon St, Suite 108, which will be completed by the end of October.

The first 300 people to register online will be rewarded with a “wag bag” filled with gifts from community partners and a commemorative t-shirt. Although the walk doesn’t start until 6 p.m., registrants can pick up their wag bag as early as 4:30 p.m.

After the walk, guests can head to the Neon Village, the grass area adjacent to the trail, to join Sunny 106.5’s own Joanna Baumann from “AJ and Joanna in the Morning,” local television host of “The Morning Blend” JJ Snyder, Vegas Golden Knights’ “Golden Pipes” Carnell Johnson, and other local celebrities. Entertainment and attractions include local musician Jonny Hazard, contests, pet-friendly vendors, a beer garden, flyball demonstration, and cuisine by the Culinary Academy of Las Vegas. The Neon Village is open to the public.

Dogs must be leashed at all times, friendly, vaccinated, and well-behaved. Registration is $35 per person and $15 for children 12 and under. Children under 5 are free, and strollers are welcome. Click here to register for this wonderful cause.
