The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, Southern Nevada’s Heart of the Arts®, has partnered with the Nevada SPCA for a special cat food drive that offers fans of CATS, the record-breaking musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber, the opportunity to enter to win a family four pack of front-row tickets to the show’s opening night on Tuesday, October 12.

Under this special offer from September 13 through 27, the shelter will accept donations of cat food, either one case of wet food or one bag of dry food, at its 4800 West Dewey Drive location in Las Vegas. Donors will receive one entry to win the CATS tickets per the minimum requirement of a 24-count case or a 17-pound bag of dry food. Those wanting to bring multiple cases or bags are eligible for more entries. The winner of the tickets will be required to comply with The Smith Center’s health and safety policies, the latest of which can be found at thesmithcenter.com.

The opening night of CATS at 7:30pm on Tuesday, October 12, will mark the return of The Smith Center’s highly popular Broadway Las Vegas® Series. Sponsored by Southern Nevada Toyota Dealers and University Medical Center, the impressive season also features brand-new musical “An Officer and a Gentleman,” as well as Broadway stage productions direct from New York like the revival of “My Fair Lady.” This season boasts a collective 20 Tony Awards®, including two for “Best Musical,” as well as two Drama Desk Awards and two Grammy® Awards.

Winner of seven Tony Awards® including Best Musical, CATS tells the story of one magical night when an extraordinary tribe of cats gathers for its annual ball to rejoice and decide which cat will be reborn. Mesmerizing elements combine to make this a wholly reimagined version of a beloved favorite, with original score by Andrew Lloyd Webber (“The Phantom of the Opera,” “School of Rock,” “Sunset Boulevard”), original scenic and costume design by John Napier (“Les Misérables”), all-new lighting design by Natasha Katz (“Aladdin”), all-new sound design by Mick Potter, new choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler (“Hamilton”) based on the original choreography by Gillian Lynne (“Phantom”), and direction by Trevor Nunn (“Les Misérables”).

Featuring one of the most treasured songs in musical theater —"Memory” — CATS runs from Tuesday, October 12 to Sunday, October 17 in The Smith Center’s Reynolds Hall. Tickets are available at thesmithcenter.com.
