But, are we complaining? I don’t think so.
Monday was the day Las Vegas set a new record by failing to reach 100 degrees. Instead, the temperature peaked at 97 degrees, marking a streak of 291 (now 292!) consecutive days below the 100-degree mark.
This surpassed the previous record of 290 days set all the way back in 1964-1965. Never fear, hotter temperatures are here. Expect temperatures to steadily climb until we reach 110 degrees on Sunday.
The Las Vegas Valley is expected to see triple-digit temperatures for the first time all year this week. We could have a high of 107 or 108 degrees on Saturday and Sunday, with slightly higher temperatures expected in the east valley.
Another record could be tied if Las Vegas doesn't reach triple-digits until Friday. The latest in the year it has reached 100 degrees for the first time was June 30th, 1965. A high of 105 to 107 is expected for the Fourth of July.
