Here's Today's Feel-Good Story:
The issue of plastic pollution in our oceans is actually far smaller than we know, according to scientists in the Netherlands.
Their study estimates how much plastic has been dumped into the ocean over the last 20 years, and it's actually 3.2 million tons which is far smaller than the 50 million to 300 million tons we've been accustomed to believing.
If the 30 richest countries could find ways to remove 4,333 kg of trash per year from our oceans and rivers, it would be an entirely manageable goal of cleaning up the water.
