Rihanna and her family gathered in Barbados this week to say goodbye to their patriarch, Ronald Fenty.
Mr. Fenty was honored on Tuesday, July 8, during his Celebration of Life at the Garfield Sobers Gymnasium within the Sir Garfield Sobers Sports Complex in Bridgetown. Rihanna was accompanied by her boyfriend A$AP Rocky and their two sons, RZA and Riot, as they walked into the venue for his service. She wore a white gown while Rocky and their sons wore dockers and button-down shirts to the service. Fenty was survived by his fiancée, Rosemary, his six children, 10 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
Ronald Fenty passed away at 70 back in May. According to TMZ, Fenty died of several illnesses soon after he checked into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Fenty's death certificate attributed his cause of death to pancreatic cancer, acute respiratory failure, and aspiration pneumonia, which is a bacterial lung infection. He also suffered from acute tubular necrosis and acute renal failure. He was surrounded by his family during his final hours.
Rihanna and her father didn't have the best relationship over the years, but they eventually reconciled. She provided her dad and his fiancée with tickets to the 2023 Super Bowl where she performed during the halftime show. Fenty found out his daughter was pregnant with her second child at the same time we all did. Since then, Ronald was a lot more involved in Rihanna's life.
Rest in peace, Ronald Fenty, and we extend our condolences to Rihanna and her family.
