A judge in the U.K. has ordered Chris Brown to remain in police custody after he was arrested this week.
The 36-year-old singer was charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm after he allegedly hit a music producer in the head with a tequila bottle two years ago. The incident happened in February 2023 at the Tape nightclub in London. Music producer Abe Diaw alleged Brown hit him in the head several times with a bottle of tequila. After his knees buckled, Diaw claimed Brown punched and kicked him while he was on the ground. According to Reuters, prosecutors told the judge it was an "unprovoked attack."
Brown was arrested on Thursday at the 5-star Lowry Hotel in Manchester. He appeared before Judge Joanne Hirst at the Manchester Magistrates' Court this morning. Prosecutor Hannah Nicholls told the judge Brown committed an "unprovoked attack with a weapon in a nightclub full of people." Judge Hirst ordered Brown to remain in custody until his hearing on June 13.
The Grammy award-winning artist is scheduled to kick off his "Breezy Bowl XX Stadium World Tour" in The Netherlands on June 8. He planned to hit several European countries, including The U.K., before bringing the tour to the U.S. Brown is expected to begin the North American leg of the tour in Miami on July 30. No adjustments to his tour schedule have been announced yet.
