The Vegas Golden Knights are adding a furry friend to their roster!
The team is partnering with America's VetDogs to help raise a future service dog, and they're asking fans to help name him.
The puppy is described as a 7-week old male Yellow Lab. He will spend up to 1.5 years with the team, attending select events at T-Mobile Arena and making visits to the team's front office. This training will help expose him to different environments and prepare him for his future role as a service dog.
Once the dog is ready, he will be paired with a disabled veteran or first responder.
"Supporting the veterans who have served our country is one of the key pillars that guide the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation," said Kim Frank, President of the VGK Foundation. "Working with America's VetDogs allows us to fulfill that mission in a way that has energized the entire organization."
Name suggestions for the VGK Pup can be submitted online.
