SSOTD: Flowers are a simple act of kindness

About a year ago, Hilary Bateman, owner of Little House of Flowers in California, started leaving a handcrafted bouquet outside her shop every Sunday afternoon with a "take me" note attached. She was inspired to start the tradition in remembrance of her late father’s legacy of kindness and love of flowers. Some recipients of the bouquets share their discovery on social media, as requested on the attached note, allowing Hilary and her team to see who found it. For others, the bouquet simply disappears, but Hilary is content knowing it's brightening someone's day. She says the simple act of kindness brings her joy and satisfaction. "It’s a small thing that doesn’t take us any time,” she explains, “But if it makes a little difference to somebody, it’s worth it."
