Las Vegas Fire & Rescue invited community members ages 14 and older to participate in a community bootcamp held recently at the Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Training Center.
The recruitment opens in June 2025 as well as the upcoming Explorer Program in July, these community events will support recruitment for LVFR!
Nicholas Rhodes, the LVFR Fire Captain explains, " Today we're hosting our community boot camp where we allow individuals from the community to get an introductory into the fire service and be able to see what it takes not only physically demanding, but also an intro into the hiring process and to expect from all the way from the application all the way through the interviews." He continues to say the boot camp and its attendants obtain knowledge and insight during the process about interviews and next steps into the academies.
Participants that participated in the bootcamp got to experience how to learn to prepare for the firefighter academy, engage in a challenging workout's amongst their peers, and meet LVFR staff!
The LVFR Explorer Program is designed to educate, train, and mentor individuals aged 15-21 who are interested to learn more about the fire services in Las Vegas. Firefighter recruitment is open to individuals aged 18 years and older with a high school diploma and valid driver's license.
Candidates will be required to pass a written firefighter exam and physical assessment!
