Q: If you were talking to yourself on the first day you started your career, what would be the piece of advice you would give yourself on that first day?

A: If I could give myself any advice on the day I started my career, I would say to slow down and enjoy the ride. I used to want to hit the next milestone as quickly as possible, and at times that was detrimental to my mental health. I'm now at the point where I take things one day at a time. I'm still ambitious, but I've learned that taking time to appreciate the little moments in my career makes me a better employee, and a happier person.

Q: What is a quote or saying you live by, and why?

A: A saying that I have been living by recently is "If you're scared, do it scared". I've spent too much of my life not pushing myself hard enough or not taking risks because I was worried about the outcome. By shifting my mindset, I've been able to achieve things I never thought I was capable of. The rush of successfully completing something I was afraid to do but did anyway is wonderful.

Q: How do you “shine” in your career/field in a unique market like Las Vegas?

A: The way that I shine in my field is by helping my volunteers shine. By training my team well and giving them the support and structure that they need, I get to watch them blossom and surpass all of my expectations. That to me is more rewarding than any personal accolades I may receive.
