The Scouting for Food Drive collects nonperishable food to feed people in the Las Vegas Valley!
This event will provide the Salvation Army with six to seven months' worth of food for its main pantry in Las Vegas which serves almost 2,000 individuals to help at-risk families every month.
Food is also collected by Pahrump locations, as well as deliveries going to smaller food banks in outlying communities. Any remaining nonperishable food will be stored at the Salvation Army Warehouses.
NEW to this year, Scouting families are encouraged to bring old batteries for recycling in partnership with Las Vegas's Rotary Club. Accepted items include rechargeable tools, loose Li-Ion or nickel metal hydride batteries, electric toothbrushes, wireless headphones, Bluetooth speakers, smartwatches, tablets, and cell phones.
