A lawn care specialist in Wichita, Kansas is going viral for raising over $800,000 for an elderly woman.
Spencer, the owner of SB Mowing has accumulated hundreds of thousands of followers on TikTok, where he shows off his company's lawn mowing and pressure washing. He also uses his platform to help out people in his community.
Many of SB Mowing's videos show Spencer offering free services to elderly or disabled people, who have struggled to take care of their yards.
Last week, Spencer posted a video of him speaking with an elderly woman named Beth. She shared she's been trying to get someone to help trim her overgrown lawn for over a month.
"I'm sorry, it's just a mess," Beth tells Spencer in the now viral video.
After transforming her yard for free of charge, Spencer decided that wasn't enough and he needed to do more. That's when he launched a GoFundMe.
"A lot of people are wanting to donate to help her fix some of the accessibility issues around her home," he wrote on the GoFundMe page. He intends to use the donations to build Beth a new driveway, build an accessibility ramp, purchase a chairlift, and have enough money to maintain her yard in the future.
In a newly shared video posted this week, Spencer tells Beth that he and his followers would be raising money for her.
"Oh my god. Why?" asked Beth as she tearfully reacted. "Those are the things dreams are made of."
Spencer tells her, "They kinda fell in love with you and your story. We just wanted to come together as a community to help you out and get you to a better spot.
As of today, the GoFundMe has raised over $300,00!
