Stephanie Parker- Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation

VP & Director of Marketing

Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation

Q: If you were talking to yourself on the first day you started your career, what would be the piece of advice you would give yourself on that first day?

A: I began my career in the casino business before moving into the nonprofit world. On my first day I would have said, “Remember to stay strong, stay confident, learn from adversity as there will be hurdles…you will get over them. With each challenge comes an opportunity to learn and grow.”

Q: What is a quote or saying you live by, and why?

A: Each day comes to me with both hands full of possibilities…- Helen Keller

Q: How do you “shine” in your career/field in a unique market like Las Vegas?

A: We are fortunate to live in a community of generous individuals and companies who are eager to support children and families in crisis. Because of people who care and who give, Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation is on the forefront of providing emotional and financial support to families of children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses as well as to adults diagnosed with cancer. I have had the privilege of engaging with donors who enable our team to serve those in need who face a tragic diagnosis and an uncertain future. Shining in my career is about being passionate, empathetic, having a positive impact on society, leading by example, fostering inclusivity and diversity, and guiding others to success by sharing knowledge, experiences, and lessons learned. Above all, I hope to always be a work in progress and lift up those around me.
