Ronald McDonald House Charities and Nevada Health Centers have partnered together to launch Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, a mobile unit providing dental care directly to underserved children in low-income neighborhoods. Patients must be 1 to 21 years old to be eligible to receive care.
According to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Las Vegas, research shows that Nevada ranks 49th in the nation in access to dental care. Poor dental health puts children at greater risk for more serious and long-term health complications in the future.
This semi-truck was designed to be a real dental office. It has two dental hygiene/treatment rooms, an x-ray lab, and a reception and records area. The staff consists of dentists, dental hygienists, and support staff.
Ronald McDonald Care Mobile serves Clark, Elko, White Pine, Humboldt, Eureka, and Lander counties in Nevada. They will visit accessible locations such as schools, churches, and community centers. Click here to view a calendar of their upcoming locations and times.
