Las Vegas Gives Thanks To Local Veterans With Veterans Day Deals

“The Las Vegas valley will honor veterans for all they do this Veterans Day, with offers and deals that range from free shows to free coffee.

Charlie-Mike Foundation

A new, locally-based foundation,The Charlie-Mike Foundation (CMF), will host “Caffeinate and Collaborate” in honor of Veterans Day. Those in attendance can enjoy complimentary coffee, donuts, and bagels while learning how the Charlie-Mike Foundation serves the local veterans’ community.

The event will take place from 9 AM to noon at Executive Option, 8945 W Russell Road Suite 150.

Arizona Charlie’s

Both Arizona Charlie’s locations will offer discounts for all active and retired military in honor of Veterans Day. Additionally, P.T.’s Express inside both locations will offer a 20% discount on all food and beverage orders.

All casino bars will also offer draft beers priced at $2 for those with a valid military I.D.

Glittering Lights

Opening on Veterans Day, Glittering Lights will waive entrance fees on cars containing a veteran.

Emporium Arcade Bar

Emporium Arcade Bar Las Vegas inside AREA 15 will offer ten free game tokens for veterans and active-duty military guests with valid identification.

Evolution Expeditions

Evolution Expeditions will offer veterans and active military members buy-one, get-one-free tours on its Kayak Emerald Cave tour, normally priced at $139 per person. The offer will be valid starting on Veterans Day, November 11, through Monday, November 15.

Gordon Biersch

Gordon Biersch is inviting all active and retired military members to enjoy 10% off on Veterans Day.

Scooters Coffee

Scooters Coffee will be offering Veterans a complimentary hot, iced, or blended drink of their choosing at participating valley locations. Veterans will need to present their military I.D.

FANTASY

The ladies of FANTASY at Luxor Hotel and Casino will offer a complimentary performance for military personnel and a guest. To attend the performance, military personnel must RSVP at FANTASYVIP@wickedcreative.com by Tuesday, November 9, and present a valid military photo I.D. A limited number of complimentary tickets will be available.

Local 5th Graders Kick Off 'Veterans Pel Pal Program’

In time for Veterans Day, the Las Vegas students will be kicking off a first-time “Veterans Pen Pal Program” for the 163 Veterans living at the Southern Nevada State Veterans Home in Boulder City, which will be distributed on Veterans Day.

One Thousand Flags Over Mesquite

In addition, the members of the Exchange Club of Mesquite founded an annual week-long tradition called One Thousand Flags Over Mesquite.

Each year, volunteers step forward to help set up a field of 1,000 full-size American Flags on the Recreation Centerfield and help dismantle it when the week is over. Volunteers dedicate 3 hours of their time to stand watch over the field during Veterans Day and the closing ceremony on Sunday.

The flags this year will be displayed on the west field of the Mesquite Recreation Center beginning Sunday morning, November 7.

On Veterans Day at 6:00 PM, a ceremony will take place at the field, including special musical performances, guest speakers, and presentations.

The closing ceremony will mark the end of the week-long celebration on Sunday, November 14, at 2:00 PM.

The Mesquite Fire and Rescue will hold a flag retirement ceremony, while guests are encouraged to bring a worn or weathered American Flad that should be retired anytime during the display.”(KSNV)
