The grand opening of the Employ NV Career Hub will commence this Thursday, September 30th, at 9 am. This hub is created through a partnership between the city of Las Vegas and Workforce Connections, and will be located at the Historic Westside School.

The Employ NV Career Hub is expected to help unemployed locals with finding careers, interview/resume help, potential paid trainings, and providing other resources through the public workforce development system.

While the unemployment rate in Las Vegas has decreased slightly since July 2021, the neighborhoods that surround the Historic Westside School are higher than the Las Vegas average. A February 2021 study showed that the surrounding zip code's unemployment rate was 13 percent, while the valley average was 10.4 percent.

Mayor Carolyn Goodman states, "Providing these critical resources within our communities is key to helping to find employment for those in need. We want to make sure these resources are convenient and accessible." (KTNV)
