Shaquille O'Neal visited Las Vegas to check up on the construction of the future "Shaquille O'Neal Youth Complex" in Las Vegas! With the site reaching its half-way point, Shaq brought some popular sports names as well to see the progress.
Shaq had toured the site with UFC President and CEO, Dana White, Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis, various leaders from the Boys & Girls Club of Southern Nevada, as well as Communities in Schools of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas! The $24 million dollar project began on August 1st, 2025, and is on track for opening in early 2027.
Shaquille O'Neal spoke on the project and said, "I'm grateful to our dynamic board, the donors, and partners who have stepped up to make this vision a reality for the young people of Las Vegas... This project shows what can happen when a community comes together with a purpose."
The complex is designed by Carpenter Sellers Del Gatto and built by CORE Construction. The Boys & Girls Club of Southern Nevada will have a 30,000 square foot clubhouse and what will be considered the nation's first "CIS Alumni Center" supported by Elaine P. Wynn & Family Foundation.
The facility will also include a UFC- branded mixed martial arts and boxing center, a Raider's themed 54,000 square foot multi-sports field, and a Lakers themed gymnasium and basketball court fully funded by the Los Angeles Lakers! The clubhouse will include mental health resources, early childhood learning centers, and technology and innovation labs for youth Pre-K-12!
The complex plans to support youth in Las Vegas not only while they are growing up but also preparing them for graduation! The Shaquille O'Neal Foundation is offering the community to leave a lasting impact on the complex by naming various rooms and spaces within the facility!
