This week, Christian and I got to see Rough Night and All Eyez On Me. We both think that Cars 3 will win the box office this weekend, but we weren't invited to the screening, so we don't have a review of that for you this week.
Rough Night, Rated R
I thought this movie was hysterical and the cast was awesome! I laughed through the entire movie and I can't wait to take my wife to this one. It's gonna be great for dates and girls nights out. It is raunchy, so know that going in. 8/10
Rough Night starts out with an impressive first half: the jokes are great and the stars shine. Somewhere in Rough Night is a great comedy... and none of that is the second half of the film. The second half totally drops the ball: it's unfunny and a disastrous answer to the conflicts addressed in the previous half. 6/10
All Eyez On Me, Rated R
I wanted this movie to be amazing... it just wasn't. I love 2Pac's music, but I wanted to know more about him. I didn't leave the movie knowing anymore than I did when I walked into the theatre. His rivalry with Biggie and how it got started, wasn't very well explained, so I spent a lot of time on Wikipedia last night! 5/10
All Eyez on Me is an awkwardly-structured, lazy biopic. Some of the horribly acting and corny editing in this film is so bad, it made me laugh out of pity. Several shots are held way too long, embarrassing slow motion shots, and laughable transitions make up the questionable editing. As far as the story, there is something here to tell, but all we see is headline after headline, making it difficult to connect with this person. 4/10
