Smaller turkeys are in bigger demand this year!
Times are changing and it would appear traditions are as well. 10 years ago the bigger the bird the bigger the glory was a common theme in every american dinner table on thanksgiving, but with new eating habits and healthier consumer choices erupting these past few years it would appear smaller turkeys fit the new mold. One reason could be the more common awareness that giant turkeys are made by being cooped in a cage and fed in order to become massively plump, leaving the alternative small bird coming from free range farms. Another reason could be smaller families or smaller gathering in general but the most common answer has to be that their just cheaper.
