Heart Of Education Winners Continue Community Work

A pair of teachers who won the Smith Center's Heart Of Education Award continue giving back to their students and the community that trust them to enlighten their children. Laura Urtubey is one of the twenty winners for 2018 and one thing shes most proud of is the garden she set up at Crestwood Elementary School. Not only do kids get their first taste of agriculture but they and their families are welcome take any produce grown as they need it. Luanne Wagner of Clark High School, also a 2018 award winner, has a similar yet less dirty way of giving back to her students and their families. She has set up the Charger Closet at Clark High, it's stocked with all types of necessities for the kids from clothes to school supplies and even some food items. Both programs continue to thrive and not enough can be said about these two wonderful educators!
