Are you Clark County's next poet laureate?

On the heels of 22-year-old Amanda Gorman's performance at the presidential inauguration, Clark County is on the search for our own Amanda Gorman.

The call is out for local poets to apply to become the Clark County Poet Laureate.

The winner will hold the title for 2-years, receive an annual $7,500 stipend and be given opportunities within the community to teach and also connect with other poets.

“The main thing we’re looking for is a person with a vision for poetry who can take it out in the community and expand it, so normally the poets that have participated have brought a project or an idea.“ Says Irma Varela, the Cultural Program Supervisor who oversees the selection process.
