At a graduation ceremony for Pennsylvania’s Wyoming Area School District last week, Valedictorian Peter Butera went rouge during his speech to criticize the school's administration and some of the teachers. He was apparently unhappy with the way the school's student government was run and a perceived lack of opportunities provided by the school to help students develop leadership skills.
The administration wasn't having it...They turned off his microphone and asked him to leave the stage, citing that Butera had veered off his approved speech. He apparently had the support of his classmates though; they gave him a loud standing ovation as he left the stage!
Butera may have been disappointed that he didn't get to finish his speech, but with the national attention this story has gotten from major news outlets, I'll bet his message to the school's administration will be heard loud and clear.
