Here's Today's Feel-Good Story:
After Sherry Lankston found a young husky named Harvey with a lopsided smile that melted her face, she knew she had to adopt him.
She was hesitant about bringing another dog into the family, consisting of another dog and two children, but Lankston told her husband that she wanted to make the 1,250 drive to go get him.
"So we kind of had to pause and I was like, 'OK, well, that's probably not going to happen.' I even looked at flights," Lankston said. "I was like, 'Why not look? Let's see if I (can) find a flight to San Diego.' And things were just outrageous — just to even consider that was silly."
"He was there for months and nobody was interested in him," said Jay Ollinger with the San Diego Department of Animal Services. "I was hearing people say that he was ugly or 'Ew, look at him!'"
