Payless Shoes Opens Fake Luxury Shoe Store As Prank

Bargain shoe retailer Payless recently opened a fake high-end store that fooled fashion influencers into paying as much as $600 for their footwear!

The brand launched a store in Santa Monica called Palessi where they sold their shoes, usually priced $20-$40 a pair, for up to 30 times as much.

The stunt brought in $3,000 worth of shoe sales, although that money was refunded and customers were able to keep their shoes!  Can you tell the difference between a $20 pair and $500 pair of shoes?
