My girlfriend asked me to join her on the South Beach diet, which I like to call a meal plan because I just want to tone up. That means we haven't been eating bread or any kind of sweets like ice cream. I have to say it has not been as difficult as I thought it would be! My breakfast routine has been the toughest to get used to since hard boiled eggs and just sausage or bacon is not much for me. I've powered through and have noticed a difference. All I have heard all my life is your weight is 70% or 80% what you eat and the rest is fitness. This has been the first time I've tried something so structured and it wasn't the torture I thought it would be! I will admit to the one cheat night we had were we had chips for an appetizer but otherwise we've stuck to the plan. This Sunday will conclude the 2 week run, without fruit. It's taught me that you can definitely conquer things you may not have thought you could. I'll give myself half a pat on the back.
