This family was flying from Hawaii to California on a Delta red eye but when their 18 year old son took a different flight on an earlier itinerary that caused a domino effect of issues. The father, Brian Schear argued that they wanted to put one of their two toddlers in that same seat purchased for their older son. Delta was saying that seat was purchased for their son, not their toddler. Brian argues that he paid for it so it should be his seat. Kudos to Delta for trying to handle it calmly. As a lover of travel and a Delta customer I believe he was in the wrong. Knowing his 18 year-old went on another flight he should have coughed up the $150 fee to switch the names on the seat. It sucks having to pay that but it would have beat the alternative of flying out the next day and paying for those additional tickets!
