There’s apparently a science-backed process that has been proven to help people wake up ready and raring to go.This strategy was developed by Kate Kaplan and her colleagues at the Stanford University School of Medicine and each piece has been tested to make sure it truly helps combat “sleep inertia ”AKA that grogginess period before you’re fully functioning. Here’s what you need to know about the “RISE-UP Method.”
RISE-UP is an acronym. Here’s what each letter stands for:
- R- Resist the urge to hit the snooze button.
- I- Increase your activity for the first hour.
- S- Shower (or wash your face and hands with cold water).
- E- Expose yourself to sunlight.
- U- Upbeat music.
- P- Phone a friend.
What's best, it work if you commit at least a week or more to the process and here’s the best part you don’t have to cross out each letter every single day. Simply doing three or four should suffice.
