CCSD's Amazing Teacher Appreciation Week!

The CCSD School District hosted Teacher Appreciation Week from May 2 to May 6. Every day was filled with different activities and gifts to make the teachers feel special. On Monday, May 2, Vegas Golden Knight Representatives and the VGK mascot, Chance, visited John F. Miller. The Golden Knights Foundation plans events like this to give back to the community. I was able to attend this event and was happy to see the joy on the children's and teacher's faces. Chance went around and individually welcomed and took pictures with each person in the room. The representatives also brought each of the teachers a bobble head and Crumbl cookie to add to their experience. Principal Elizabeth Poglitsch said they had a lot of fun events planned for Teacher's Appreciation Week, but they appreciate their staff all year long. She continued, saying, about once a month they have some sort of surprise or lunch to show the staff appreciation all year long. This was a very heart-warming event that left every person with a smile on their face.

This was just one of the many special events CCSD planned for their teachers. Other events included a Las Vegas Desert Dogs visit, Summer Fun at Cowabunga Vegas, a Pinkbox Donation, a Henderson Silver Knights visit and more. Overall, the week was one to remember filled with lots of love and appreciation for all of our wonderful and hardworking teachers at CCSD.
