"Lauren is a loving and outgoing 18-year-old who enjoys playing with animals and embracing her creative side.
Diagnosed at birth with a brain tumor, her current treatment plan includes monthly chemotherapy and bi-weekly appointments with an eye doctor.
Her tumor has caused Lauren to begin to lose her eyesight, so to make sure she gets the best care, her family takes her to Phoenix for every appointment.
Despite everything she endures, Lauren maintains a positive attitude, and her love of animals has helped her persevere.
The special wish reveal of a new puppy was one she would never forget. Make-A-Wish of Southern Nevada partnered with the Las Vegas Review-Journal for a surprise car parade outside her home.
After receiving her new puppy Casper, Lauren went on a shopping spree at PetSmart.
Since Lauren spends so much time in the hospital, she hopes to have Casper trained as a service dog to accompany her to treatment.
