Longtime No Doubt guitarist Tom Dumont revealed that he's been diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson's disease in a very personal Instagram clip.
"Just wanted to say hi," the musician, 58, began the clip he shared with fans on Saturday (April 11). "The last couple of months, getting ready for the No Doubt Sphere shows, uh, it's been very fun."
The iconic rock band, which also consists of Gwen Stefani, Tony Kanal and Adrian Young, is set for a Las Vegas residency at The Sphere from May 6 to June 13.
"A number of years ago I was experiencing a number of symptoms, went to my doctor, I went to a neurologist, and I did a whole bunch of tests and I was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson's disease," the musician revealed. "It's been a struggle, it's a struggle every day."
Despite the diagnosis, Dumont vowed to keep on rocking, revealing gratitude to his fans.
"The good news is, I can still play music, I can still play guitar," he candidly shared. "I have been doing really well. I am really excited for the shows. Looking through old footage and looking at old photographs and relearning old songs and rehearsing and creating all the video stuff for the screens at the Sphere, it kind of made think about how grateful I am for the life I've gotten to lead as a musician all these years, you know? And it's thanks to our families and our friends and listeners and you and everyone who has come to our shows over the years."
Back in January, bandmates Kanal and Young hung out with iHeartRadio's Booker and Stryker at iheartRadio's ALTer EGO, where they expressed excitement for the band's highly anticipated upcoming residency.
"It's good to get back in the ether," Young shared. "Let's go, baby."
