A woman out for a run got the surprise of a lifetime when she came across Ed Sheeran filming a video and got an impromptu serenade.

The "Bad Habits" singer took to his Instagram on Tuesday (September 17) to share a video of him lounging on a boat with his guitar in a canal in the U.K. when woman appeared running down the walk beside the waterway, per People. He greeted the runner as she slowed down before asking if she had "any requests" of songs he should play, to which she replied, "Can you do 'Tenerife Sea'?"

Sheeran immediately began playing the tune from his 2014 sophomore studio album X (Multiply) as she got her own phone out to record the surprise performance. After wrapping up his serenade and waving to the woman, he told her to "Have a good rest of your run."

"Was filming a video on the canal today, played a request," he captioned the clip. "If anyone knows the runner lemme know so we can have their POV video for the lols."

The runner, identified as Nikki Atkins on Instagram, quickly saw Sheeran's shoutout and shared the meetup from her own perspective on her Instagram Stories of the "so unexpected and so so beautiful" exchange, thanking Sheeran and adding, "This is why we run girls."
